Fleet Week in San Francisco
"Fleet Week is a United States Navy, United States Marine Corps, and United States Coast Guard tradition in which active military ships recently deployed in overseas operations dock in a variety of major cities for one week." (source - wikipedia)
The Fleet Week in San Francisco was from 5th to 10th October this year. Each day there were military demonstration and air shows in SF around the Marina and the piers.
We went to see the show on Saturday and we joined other french families with a loooot of kids (more than 10 kids if I remember correctly!!) We really had a great time with them (merci Anne-Flore si tu passes par là :))
We had a picnic at Presidio Park just in front of the Bay and the Golden Gate, we had a front seat to the show ! A good spot to keep in mind for next year :)
Then we've seen a lot of ships in the Bay, then the air show started and it was unbelievable... really amazing!!!!
Just above the Bay !!
The Boeing !
The highlight was the Blue Angels air show !!
They are the US Navy's flight demonstration squadron. After la Patrouille de France they are the second oldest formal flying aerobatic team!
I really love this last one picture! As you can imagine it was quite complicated to take photos since they were flying so fast!
